Coconut Lavender Body Scrub

Homemade Lavender Coconut Oil Salt Scrub

I found this recipe on Pinterest and had to make it myself. For the original post, click here. It was super easy and I had most of the products already. I just had to stop by the store for some Epsom salt.

For this you will need:

  • Solid Coconut Oil
  • Epsom Salt
  • Lavender Oil
  • A container with a tight lid

Combine 2 cups Coconut oil with 1 cup Epsom salt into a bowl. Stir until the Epsom salt is complete covered by the Coconut oil. Add 20 drops of Lavender oil, or as much as to your liking for scent. Stir until the coconut and lavender scents are perfectly blended. Scoop into a container and screw on the lid tightly.

To Use:

In the shower, scoop out a chunk of the scrub and rub on areas where you have dry, rough or peeling skin. Rub in soft circular motions. Rinse off. For oily skin wash the scrub off with a body wash. For dry skin, just simply rinse.

Before:

skin2 skin3

I had a lot of redness and peeling from being out in the sun too long.

After:

skin1

Nice glowing, smooth and hydrated skin after 2 uses.

Let me know if you try out this remedy and how it works for you. Also share any other awesome coconut oil uses in the comments.

    1. It should keep for a very very long time. None of the ingredients are really perishable. I wouldn’t refrigerate it because of the coconut oil, it will get hard. Room temp is fine. I just kept mine in the bathroom.

  1. Won’t it go bad if you get water in it since it doesn’t have a preservative in it? I have read that without it it will only last for a week or so. Please let me know. This sounds like a wonderful winter body scrub. Thank you
